Another mid-table finish for PNEFC under the steady hand of Mr Grayson was, for most of us who remember the bad old times, a satisfactory conclusion to the season. With some promising young talent being added to the squad, things were looking bright, and another season of success could be anticipated.

As in the preceding year, the World-Famous Preston Predictions contest ultimately came down to a battle between the northern and southern hemispheres. The two Davids slugged it out and, unlike the previous result, the top prize was taken this time by Australia, with England finishing a close second.

Some of our more recently arrived punters showed prominently in the final table, notably Sparks, Milsey and Nobber61, while some of our former champs finished well down the ladder.

So the priceless PP Trophy returned to its spiritual home south of the equator for another year, in the deserving hands of David Myer

And of course the lavish awards ceremony went off with a bang!.
