So another season of starting and ending badly saw PNE give their supporters yet more frustration, a possible relegation battle led to possible play offs before the wheels once again came flying off to leave us with a mid-table finish.

At least we kept hold of the manager who signed a new deal after West Brom came sniffing and will probably be rewarded (knowing football these days) by getting the boot in October if we are anywhere near the bottom three. Not to worry signings are in the pipeline and we will no doubt be desperate for tickets when next season's play off final comes around.

The main excitement of the season came at PP headquarters when it became clear with a few games to go that at last after 14 seasons a punter was on course to win the competition for a second time. Most in the top 6 had already lifted the prestigious trophy and despite being told that a second triump would mean he would have to keep the famous tacky trophy Sagwhite's effort to balls it up failed miserably and he finally stumbled over the line with a game to spare.

So Spain once again have punched above their weight and Sagwhite seemed to have it all sown up by the halfway stage, the fact that he didn't was down to a excellent second half of the season from HamiltonMachine and I am assured that Keith still looks over his shoulder to this day on the way back from the pub at nights to check if Bazza is closing up behind him.

So the priceless PP Trophy returned to it's former and now permanent home in Madrid, looking rather splendid amongst the other crap in the Real football museum.

Congratulations to Keith for being the first punter to win the trophy twice and runnerup Barry, the top 6 was completed by Barb, Trevor, David and Gary, Jo took her first title by winning the Cup competition.
