Well, well, well, who would have thought that PNE might promise so much this season only to capitulate towards the end, leaving us all sadly disappointed.

An alarming slump in form after Christmas left us too much to do to make the play offs, so it was basically the same ending as the last 2 seasons.

However, the PP competition more than made up for the team's failure to get over the line by once again having the champion wait to be crowned until the last game of the season. Trevor and David seemed to be locked together for over a month with almost the same number of points after the season restarted until a dramatic six-pointer from Trevor in the penultimate game swung things his way, and he was duly crowned champion the following week after holding on to his five point lead in the last match.

So Trev took the title for the first time after a string of near misses and top six finishes.

Well played sir.

The first half of the season was a very high scoring affair with all the top six looking to break records. Trevor amassed 70 points by half way, which is a record at that stage, but couldn't quite keep up the same pace in the second half of the season to break the all time record of 124 held by Walrus. In fact, with ten games left, both leaders had over 100 points to their names and the record looked in danger. Then, after lockdown was over, Trevor and David looked to try and win the title by each scoring zero or one point per game until the penultimate match made a dramatic difference.

On the subject of points scoring we must mention Dazzla who's February total of 37 points from 7 games had most of the folks at PP Towers looking at how and why the software had gone west, but in the end it just turned out to be an amazing bit of scoring in such a short space of time.

As for the cup competiton Barry (HamiltonMachine) won his second Trophy in 3 seasons, making him the only punter to have won the cup twice, congratulations to Barry for adding to his PP medal collection.

So the famous PP Trophy heads off to Toowoomba and puts Australia ahead in the country rankings, with five titles to the UK's four. I'm sure the rest of the world will want to put that right next season.
